Hey Hey!!! I haven’t posted in a while but here I am! 🙂
I took some time to get myself together…like a brain vacation hahaha. I have been trying to figure out me. What I like, what I dislike, what I am doing with my life, and every now and then asking small children what they want to be when they grow up because I have run out of ideas. All of my searching has led me right back here which is awesome! I feel refreshed and ready to create some great content for y’all. First up, a beauty post!
I am obsessed with all things beauty but lately I have been really (like REALLY) obsessed with brown lipsticks. This obsession started when I came across a few pictures of Ryan Destiny on Pinterest wearing a beautiful warm brown matte lip. After hours of scrolling, I decided that I would make it my mission to find a brown lip that looked similar to hers but still complimented me. After a visit (or five) to my local MAC counter, I finally curated the perfect collection of brown lipsticks that suit me.
For each brown lip. I used the lip pencil in Chestnut by MAC. If you are looking for a more affordable option, Morphe Trendsetter is a great choice. It is a little deeper than the Chestnut shade but is still an overall great dark brown lipliner. I highly suggest wearing a lipliner with these darker shades as they tend to get a little messy. The lipliner ensures clean lines and makes sure everything stays in place. I do want to add that all of the lipsticks that I am about to discuss/suggest are matte. Matte formulas are my favorite because they are low maintenance (you don’t have to reapply a bunch during the day) and make my lips look plumper.
The picture above shows all of the shades that I purchased from MAC. All but one of these (Antique Velvet) are new to my collection. My favorite so far is Derrière because its a lot lighter than the chestnut lipliner so the two together create a really bomb contrast! With that combo, I like to add a dab of a medium pink in the center of my lips just to add a tad more dimension. The look turns out crazy amazing…trust me. I wore this whole combination while shooting for these pictures. Antique Velvet, Double Fudge, and Consensual are all very deep browns that almost blend right in to the lipliner. Out of those three Consensual is my favorite. On occasion, Antique Velvet will look sort of red on me so I don’t wear it too often. I like my brown lipsticks to look BROWN. I have not had the chance to play around with Kinkster so I don’t have too much to say other than swatches beautifully! I am excited to see what it looks like on the lips. When I finally do wear it, I will updated this post and tell y’all all about it.
If you would like to see Antique Velvet, Double Fudge, Derrière, and Consensual in action had over to my insta highlights. I have a tab dedicated to brown lips. On my stories I wore all of my lipsticks with Chestnut lipliner.

Quick Tip: Before I apply my lipstick, I apply the chestnut lipliner on the edges of my lips like an outline. (Occasionally I will almost fill my lips in completely with liner but most days I just do the edges) I then use the lipstick bullet to fill in my lips.
