Gucci Belt Sizing and The Colors I Chose

Okay, its official! I jumped on the Gucci belt bandwagon 3x’s while on vacation. I have seen them all over pinterest and instagram over the past few months and I have dreamed of getting my hands on one. Unfortunately, each time I checked the Gucci website, my size would be out of stock or my local store would be fresh out so I sort of just gave up and tried (and failed!) to find a proper substitute.
While in Florida, the hotel we stayed in was within walking distance to a mall (who knew?! πŸ˜‰ ) and one day we got up and decided to take a stroll there. This particular mall had one stand alone Gucci and at least two other Gucci stores inside of the larger department stores. I went into the stand alone store first and the sales associate there was so nice! I asked to see the black and brown version of the belt. They only had the brown belt with silver hardware and the black belt with gold hardware. Being that I almost never wear silver, I went with the black belt with the gold hardware. The style I purchased is the mens version which I didn’t realize until after I had purchased it. I do really like the pebbled leather over the more popular smooth leather version.

The next day, I called a mall about an hour from where we stayed searching for the brown belt with gold hardware and they had it! The sales associate there told me they had just gotten the belts back in stock either that same day or the day before.

With the last belt purchase, I couldn’t decide if I wanted the white belt or the dusty pink. I knew I wanted something nice and light for spring and the summer months. While looking on pinterest and surfing the internet I came across a blogger (MiaMiaMine) that styled an outfit with the pink belt and I knew I had to have it instead of the white one
Sizing:

If you are purchasing the belt online, refer to the sizing guide on the Gucci website. If you go in store, the associates will help you find a size that best suites you.
I was deciding between the 90 and the 95. I normally wear a size 6 or 8 in jeans. The 90 fit but the 95 was much more comfortable and that’s what I ended up going with in all three belts.  With each belt, I asked the associate to punch three holes after the last hole so that I could wear the belt with different jean rises. There is no extra charge for the associates to punch holes in the belt but once you punch holes in the belt, you can no longer return it.

Choosing a Color:

I decided on the black and brown initially because I wanted belts in the basic colors so that I could wear them all of the time. I love how these belts can really elevate the simplest outfits. Also, I only own one belt  and I only purchased that in an attempt to find a dupe for the Gucci belt.  Any other time I have ever needed a belt it is usually borrowed. (haha! πŸ™‚ ) The belt does come in a few different colors which are all actually great. They even have some belts that are embellished with pearls and different types of stones. (The one with the pearls is GORGEOUS FYI!)

2.5″ vs. 1.5 ” vs. .5″

The belt I am wearing is the 1.5 ” and it seems to be the most popular of the three sizes offered. The .5″ is a little to small (IMO) to wear on lower rise jeans. I feel like the belt will just get lost. If you only intend to wear the belt with high rise jeans, I would recommend the smaller version. The 2.5″ would be best suited to wear around your natural waist when wearing a jumpsuit or dress that you would like to cinch in but not for everyday wear.

Prices:
1.5″ – $450
.5″- $350
