Hotel:
B Historic Savannah
This hotel was located in this historic district and is in is walking distance to a bunch of different restaurants and stores. The hotel also has a restaurant/bar in it which we did not go to because we wanted to take the time we had to really explore the city. Now, I will be honest and say I will probably not stay at this hotel on our next trip to Savannah. The room was not my favorite. The bed was entirely too soft and there were stains on one of our sheets (yikes!). I am a super particular about cleanliness, especially in a hotel, so that is something that will make me bypass a hotel when planning a trip.
Food:
Two Cracked Eggs
Out of the three places we ate at while in Savannah, this had to be my favorite. We ate here on Thursday morning before heading to the beach and I honestly wish we could eat here every single day! My husband and I both had the peach french toast with bacon and eggs. DELICIOUS! Another good thing about this place is that there are tables where you can sit and look at the river while you eat! A great way to start your day!
FULL
SO we didn’t actually go to this place…we ordered it via uber eats from the hotel. We didn’t realize that everything shuts down around 10pm (at least during the week) so we had to order food in a hurry. The menu on uber eats wasn’t too extensive but what we were able to eat was pretty yummy. We ordered the mother load cheese fries to share (fries covered in cheese, chili, and jalepenos) and bacon full burgers. Everything was amazing. Next time, I would like to pop into the actual restaurant so that we could get the full experience (and possibly some fried mac and cheese balls!)
The Distillery
This was my least favorite (as far as food goes) out of the three. I ordered the fish and chips and it was not that great of a dish IMO. My husband, on the other hand, ordered the shrimp and chips and loved it. I say that to say, I probably wouldn’t suggest this for food but the beer on the other hand was pretty good. We had the rekorderling strawberry lime cider and it was soooo sweet and refreshing! The perfect beer if you’re not really into beer!
What to do:
So there is a ton to do here. We could have easily spent a week here exploring and trying out different restaurants and pubs.
For shopping I would suggest Broughton Street. This street houses a bunch of different mainstream stores like Free People , GAP, and Anthropologie as well as local shops and boutiques.
If you are looking for a night on the town, I would suggest River Street. Please do not make the same mistake I did and wear flats or sneakers if you plan to make your way here. The streets are cobblestone and the steps are historic steps (so they are veryyyy steep). This street sort of reminds me or Bourbon Street in NOLA. There are a ton of bars, shops, and restaurants to choose from here.
Lastly, if you have time, stop by Tybee Island. Tybee was only about a 30 minute drive from out hotel and wasn’t super crowded when we went (Thursday) so we had no problem finding a spot to place our beach blanket and enjoy the sun/ocean. We only had a few hours here but I would for sure love to explore this area more when we go back.
