Unboxing: My First Pair of Designer Shoes

Ya’ll I finally caved and purchased my first pair of designer shoes!
I have always had my eye on these but I never actually thought I’d go through with
purchasing them.  Honestly speaking, the price is just absolutely ridiculous for a pair of shoes and after I pressed the “place my order” button on the Nordstrom website I had instant buyers regret (lol!). I was so close to calling and cancelling my order but I figured I would just wait until they arrived and if I still felt the same way, I could just take them back to the store….no pressure. Days later, they showed up, I tried them on a few times, and I decided to keep them! The silhouette on these is stunning! Pictures on pinterest and YouTube videos do not do these shoes justice! Since I have only worn them out a few times I don’t really think I can do a true review but I am going to share a few buying tips with you guys.

My tips for purchasing:

1. If you can, go into the store and try these on (If you can’t, do your research and make your best educated guess)
These shoes run really narrow and because of that you may not wear your normal size. I usually wear an 8.5 in shoes but in these, I wear a 9.5 and they are still pretty snug. I read that they will stretch out as you wear them so you don’t want to size up too much because then they can become too big over time.

Side note: Each style of Louboutin fits differently so the size that you may wear in the “So Kate” may be different from the size you wear in the “Pigalle”.

2. Walk Around In Them
When you get them, make sure you walk around in them to break them in and to practice your stride. They will be tight and uncomfortable but with these, you need to break them in and you need to practice walking in them. The heel on these is 4.7 inches and the way the shoe is made makes it difficult to walk in. (The arch on the shoe is extremely high.) The last thing you want to do is wear these out and look like a new born deer (lol! you have been warned 🙂 )

3. If this is your first pair, choose a classic style and color
This step is completely optional. If this is your first time purchasing these shoes (like me!) , I would buy them in a classic color and style. I say this because if you purchase the shoe in a classic color and style, you will most likely get a ton of use out of them (and your money’s worth) versus getting them in a neon pink or yellow that you probably wouldn’t get a ton of use out of (or your money’s worth). But in the end, it is all up to you!

The style I purchased:
So Kate in Nude Patent
The size I purchased:
9.5
Where I purchased:
Nordstrom.com
You guys will for sure see these on the blog all of the time because I am going to make sure I get every cent out of these puppies! After I wear them for a few months, I’ll do an updated review on how I like them. So far, I am in loveeee and I am already plotting on a white patent pair and a black suede pair!
