Hey Ya’ll!
I am sorry for the lack of posts over the last week or so. I honestly don’t even have an excuse or reason as to why I haven’t posted…I just haven’t felt inspired to post about anything at all. I guess I could have just posted something short but I wasn’t into it tbh. π¬π¬ I can’t honestly say that I feel super inspired while typing this but I don’t want to get myself stuck in a rut so I figured I would come up with a lil somethin’ somethin’ to share with the people.
The past week was actually a mix of annoying and awesome. There was just a lot of little things going on that just added up to be super annoying and now that I really I think about it those things may have contributed to my uninspired mood. Well, who am I kidding…they definitely contributed to my uninspired mood! The highlight of my week was that I got to see TD Jakes speak at my church Wednesday night.ππ I had always heard my grandmother talk about him but I have never really heard him speak so I thought it would be pretty cool to hear him. Ya’ll!!!!! He was the bomb! I was pretty nervous about the whole thing because I had to go by myself but it turned out to be a really awesome and refreshing experience. I felt really blessed to be a part of that experience especially because it was at my home church. He is definitely someone I would go to see speak/preach again if the opportunity presented itself. The experience was quite refreshing and I feel that he touched on some points that I needed to hear. Overall, I was very impressed and I can see why people would travel to hear him. He is extremely knowledgeable! If you are wanting to hear what he spoke about (and I say speak because he wasn’t really preaching) you can check it out on youtube. If you type in “TD Jakes Elevation Church” you should be able to find it. I hope you love it as much as I did!
Speaking of love…I loveee the outfit I have on in these pics. This outfit was so easy and cute! I would wear this just about every single day if I could. The top is perfect for spring because it is on the thinner side so it is comfortable for those days where a sweater is too much but its not really warm enough for a tank top. I really wish I had purchased it in a few more colors because it is just that good and it was on sale at that time. I don’t think it is on sale anymore but of course I will make sure to link it for you guys to purchase. Also, be aware of the sizing. I am wearing a small and I could have easily gotten away with an XS. When I purchased it, I bought the small because it was the only size left and I figured if I hated it I could just return it but it wound up being PERFECT! If I would have gotten a medium or large like I would normally buy my feelings would have been sooooo hurt because it would have been wayyyyyy too big! Now lets talk about these sandals! I really wanted these in black and cognac last summer but I could not bring myself to pay that much for a pair of flip flops plus they were pretty much sold out at every retailer. Well, obviously…some restocks happened, I broke down, and I just went for it. I will say that I am satisfied with them but its not something that’s a super necessary purchase. I honestly almost took them back because I wasn’t as crazy impressed as I thought I’d be but I decided to keep them because I didn’t feel like going through all the trouble of returning them. After a few wears, I have grown to really like them and I am really excited to style them this spring/summer. I will NOT be purchasing anymore flat sandals this spring/summer because I am getting all of the money out of these. After I have worn these out, I probably won’t purchase another pair simply because they just aren’t all that to warrant repurchase. If you do decide to purchase these I would strongly suggest you going a full size up (maybe even a size and a half). I read a bunch of reviews going back and forth about the sizing of the shoes but I ultimately decided to go up a size because there is nothing worse that your heel hanging off of a sandal! I figured I would rather them be slightly too large than too small. I’m glad I decided to size up one full size because they ended up fitting perfectly. If I would have gone up 1/2 a size the shoe would have been unwearable and I would have had to take them back in the hopes that my Nordstrom carried the larger size!
So much for me being uninspired! I hope ya’ll enjoyed today’s post! π
