It has taken me 1000000000 years to sit down and write todays post but here I am. I initially tried to write this post on an empty stomach which turned out to be a HUGE mistake because I could not focus. My brain kept thinking about the giant slice of red velvet cake my husband got me from a local bakery yesterday afternoon. The bakery is called Villani’s and it is the best bakery (in my humble opinion) here in Charlotte. They offer a variety of sweet treats and I have yet to be disappointed by any of them. I usually go for the lobster tails which are a sort of puff pastry with this cream filling that almost tastes like vanilla ice cream (soooo sooo good!) but this time, I went for the red velvet cake. I ate half of it yesterday but I was just too tired to finish it which was truly a shame. It is safe to say that I gave in and I am now eating the cake and watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I am watching this movie for the millionth time. I loveee this movie and all of the other jurassic park movies. IRL I am a total science nerd so these movies are up my alley!
On another note, I read a quote today that I wanted to share with y’all. I am a total quote person and I am always trying to find quotes that fit my mood…corny I know lol! Today I ran across this one and I just had to share. This year I have really been working on trying to improve on myself as a person and trying to become more mindful. When I saw this quote it was like an ah ha moment. It just put everything that I have been trying to teach myself into perspective. The quote reads,” The glass isn’t half full or half empty. It’s refillable.” I have never thought to look at things that way but it’s so very true. I have found myself on a few occasions trying to figure out if I am a glass half empty or half full kinda gal but I could never really decide on either but after seeing this I realize that neither of those perspectives really matters much because at the end of the day, the glass is refillable. Most mistakes can be fixed, things can be adjusted, more money can be made, and new opportunities will present themselves. If you have a the glass is refillable perspective, nothing is off limits because even if you encounter a “failure” things can still be adjusted and turned around in your favor. For me, this perspective takes the concreteness out of things and allows more fluidity in life.
