Hey Guys!
Today I am rounding up all of my beauty faves from 2020 and putting them here. I started doing monthly beauty posts over summer but I thought that it would cool/fun to have one huge post with all of my top beauty things that I loved in 2020 in one place. BTW this is my SECOND time typing out this post. The first time I typed it all out in full detail it didn’t save and then deleted so I had to redo it.
Foundation
I raved ab this foundation all October long and it made it into my October beauty faves. This foundation is soooo good because it blurs the skin and gives really great coverage. I love full coverage foundations but I don’t like my makeup to feel heavy and this checks those boxes for me. I use the shade Valencia.
Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation and Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Mixed Together
This foundation combo has been my go-to for the past month. The Dior Skin Glow (4,5) is too deep and the CT foundation is too light but the two of them together make the perfect shade. The finish with these two mixed together is crazy good. It makes my skin look soooo smooth without looking cakey or unnatural. The texture of the two mixed together sort of reminds me of the NARS foundation I talked ab above. In the majority of my pics from December I was wearing this combo. This foundation also did a great job at covering any “problem areas” I was concerned about without caking around them.
Lipgloss
I love these glosses because they aren’t goopy or clumpy but they give really high shine.
Pat McGrath Lust Gloss in Pale Fire Nectar and Nude Negligee
Tom Ford Crystalline Lip Gloss (this one smells like cake!)
Lipliner
I like to overline my lips so I usually lean toward light brown to medium brown lip liners so that my over line isn’t super super obvious. The two shades that I have been gravitating towards are:
Marc Jacobs Poutliner in Oh Cocoa
Patrick TA Lip Crayon in Of She’s Single
Lipstick
I am a nude lipstick girl through and through. I tend to lean towards really peachy-pink nudes because I like they way they look on my skin tone and brown-ish lipliners.
Natasha Denona I need A Nude in Maria
Patrick TA Monochrome Moment Silky Lip Cremé in She’s Unapologetic
Eyeshadow
I had two palettes that I LOVED in 2020. One of the palettes is warm and the other is color but both are amazing. The shimmers are super sparkly and the mattes are super creamy which makes it super easy to apply.
Concealer, Setting Powders and Color Corrector
My under eyes have to be super super bright or I am not satisfied with my makeup at all. These products used together give me the brightness that I really love and hide my dark circles. I apply the color corrector first to cancel out the purple/blue undertones that I have (I go back and forth between 2 and 3….I even layer one on top of the other at time) and set that with a little setting powder so it doesn’t move when I add concealer on top. I then add concealer, blend it out, and the set with setting powder. No matter how much sleep I have had (or lets be honest didn’t have) this route makes me look super awake.
Chalotte Tilbury Vanish Color Corrector in shades 2 and 3
Dior Skin Corrector in Shade 1.5 – I just bought the shade 0N because I wanted a bit more brightness
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Marron Glacé
NARS Soft Matte Concealer in Ginger – This concealer is really thick and I like to use it on the days that I’ve had little to no sleep. It’s really thick so it does a great job and making sure my tired eyes don’t peek through at all.
Bronzer
I like to use a combo of cream and powder bronzers every time I do my makeup.
Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Bronzer in Shade 2 – I set both of the cream products below with this powder. This powder looks so natural once you apply it. I used the shade 3 at first and HATED it because it just looked a bit too thick and cakey. I was going to write it off completely but I decided to try shade 2 instead and I am so glad that I did. Shade 2 is much better and it makes my face look so smooth, airbrushed, and natural all at the same time.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chocolat – This was my go-to, never fail cream bronzer before I started using the Fenty Cream bronzer. I know this is technically a concealer but the color on this was perfect because it wasn’t too red or too orange or too muddy so it gave me the perfect sun kissed glow. This is the product that I grab when I have to do my makeup on the go or when we used to travel because I knew I could depend on it.
Fenty Freestyle Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer in Teddy – I was skeptical on this bronzer because it had heard some pretty mixed reviews ab it but after trying it out for myself I can say that I really like it. It is a bit on the ashy side but it doesn’t look muddy at all once I blend it out and add my powder bronzer on top to set it.
Mascara
Brow Pencil
Benefit Precisely My Brow in shades 4 and 3.75 – I have tried many brow pencils but I always find myself going back to this one. I like my brows to be full but not to structured and this pencil does just that. I will add that I really like the mini versions over the larger versions. I feel like they are easier to hold and make my “perfect” brow but they don’t have the spoolie on the end which is the down side.
Hair Products
Dry Bar Mixologist Interchangeable Styling Iron – I raved so much ab this iron that my mom went out and bought one. The iron is good because you get three styling tools in one. It comes with three attachments, the curling iron, waver, and wand. I have used (and like) all three attachments but my favorite attachment is the waver. I also like to use this heat protectant and this finishing spray. You can purchase a set with the sprays and the styling iron here.
Primer
The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer – This primer does a really great job at filling in my fine lines and it is only $5. The way I like to use it is to apply a few dots on my face, let it sit for a few seconds, and then blend it out. I feel like when I do it this way, I get the most out of the product.
Blush
I really love blush. In fact, its probably one of the things that I used to buy most often when I first started getting in to makeup. I typically lean more towards brown-ish blushes with a touch of peach or pink or mostly peachy blushes.
Chalotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic in The Climax
Patrick TA Major Beauty Headlines Double Take Cremé and Powder Blush in She’s So LA and She’s That Girl – I like to use these two mixed together because it gives the perfect brownish-pink blush that I typically like to wear.
Patrick TA Monochrome Moment Velvet Blush in She’s Sincere
MAC Mineralize Blush in Love Joy
Lashes
If you follow me on insta, you may have seen my 10 days of lashes. It was actually supposed to be 12 days but I got started late because I wasn’t keeping track of the dates. (lol!) Any way, I got to try a good amount of lashes so I thought I’d share which ones I really loved.
Lilly Lashes in Mykonos , Monaco, and Miami Flare (I also really love the style Miami)
Fragrance
I really love sweet scents but not syrupy sweet scents if that makes sense. All of these are sweet but they have a little something extra that makes then a little more grown up.
Maison Margiela ‘Replica’ Coffee Break
Maison Margiela ‘Replica’ By The Fireplace – this one smells like s’mores! It does have a bit of a smoky smell like you were standing next to a bonfire so be aware of that.
Killian Love Don’t Be Shy -it took one a while to love this one but now I can’t get enough of it. Out of all of the scents listed, this one is the sweetest.
