Adjusting To The Shift

Good Morning! Happy Thursday!

(well, when you guys read this…it’ll be morning lol)

I am writing this post while trying to relax after a longggg day with the boys. We had pretty FULL day today. We started off with swim lessons, a library visit, a chick-fil-a run, and then ended things off with a tantrum at the tailor. I mean what’s a day out with your kids without a full meltdown, right??!! But at least I got EVERY SINGLE thing on my to-do list done and tantrum or not, I count today as a win.

Here’s the skort I ordered that needed to be tailored…I’ve had my eyes on it for almost a year and it finally went on sale!! The sizes they had left weren’t close to my actual size but I wanted the skort really BAD so I ordered what they had left and opted to get it tailored. Ironically, this may be how I have to order my jeans and tops from this point forward because I’m in-between sizes in most of my go-to brands. Sooooo, this will be a nice trial run for me.

Life has been pretty interesting lately in the best way. If you don’t know, I launched an activewear/lifestyle brand. It’s my third baby and I am soooo in love! My brand is called FiveFifteen and the outfit in this post’s pictures are from my shop. I am truly enjoying being a full-time mom and entrepreneur. It’s a LOT of work but it is sooooo fulfilling. I know that’s very cliche but it’s TRUE. If someone would have told me 5 years ago I would have my own brand and would managing an entire household I would have never believed them. And honestly, I am STILL adjusting to the shift of being an entrepreneur/mom/wife and I think I will be for a while. I say this because this post was actually prompted by a dm that I got from a friend. We were LITERALLY going back and forth about how it feels to complete a full to-do list of tasks and STILL feel like you haven’t done enough. The feeling is very WILD but also it begs the question….when will you give yourself the opportunity to celebrate the things you’ve accomplished? And even more importantly, when will you give yourself the opportunity to rest in the things you once prayed for and allow yourself to see the person you are growing to be? When will you allow yourself to adjust to the shift? As I’m asking you these questions, I’m also asking myself because they seem to be a recurring theme in my life. And each time these questions are posed to me, I can’t seem to answer them. But I am working on thriving in my “soft girl” era. I’ll be leaning into celebrating my wins big and small, taking time to pamper myself, and creating spaces of peace. Come with me as I start this journey into my version of “The Soft Life”.
