Throwing Out Old, Used up, and Expired Makeup

Hey guys!

I am currently writing you from self-quarantine and bored out of my mind! I have been trying so hard to keep myself sane so I have began to create little “tasks” for me to do around the house to keep my occupied. First on the list, cleaning out expired/old makeup. I literally hate throwing out makeup because it isn’t cheap. Plus, some of the older makeup I have is from when I didn’t have much money and would have to scrape coins together to buy it so it has some sentimental value. Nonetheless, if I’m not using it and it is super expired (I’m talking yearsssssssss old), or empty then I should probably just go ahead and get rid of it. I’ll share each of the products I am tossing, how I liked it, and if I have repurchased a newer version of the item.

#1. Lancome Teint Idole Foundation in 450 Suede N

This was probably one of the first higher end foundations that I ever purchased. At the time, I could not even believe that I was spending almost $50 on a foundation but it was totally worth. I was deff determined to use the entire bottle and in fact, I still have the original bottle I purchased back in 2015/2016. The only issue I had with this foundation is the color. I think I went a little too deep with the shade and I plan on replacing it with the correct shade and tossing this expired bottle. The shade I plan on getting is 425 Bisque W.

#2. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

I had a ton of these in a variety of shades for a few different uses. I had a couple that were my exact skintone to use as a finishing powder. A few lighter ones to set my concealer and one that was a little darker to bronze my face with. Overall, I did really like these powders when I first started using makeup consistently but there are just other powders that I really like more. I have recently repurchased the color dark-deepest to use as a bronzer butI don’t plan on buying any of the other colors I had.

#3. Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation in 4W

This foundation was okay. Generally, I am a full coverage girl and this foundation is super lightweight and doesn’t cover the way I like my foundation to cover. Plus, I wasn’t a huge fan of the shade that I had. I may consider giving it another ty during the warmer months in a different shade.

#4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in Medium

Truth be told, I had no clue what to really do with this bad boy when I first purchased it. Because of that, it is pretty much untouched but it is so old that I do not feel comfortable putting it on my face (haha!).

#5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Bronzer in Mahogany

LOVE, LOVE, LOVEEEEEEEEE this bronzer!!!! I will be repurchasing in the same shade. A little goes a longggg way with this bronzer so be super careful if you are heavy handed.

#6 Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer in Maldives

The best thing about this bronzer is that is smells like coconuts. I loved it at the time of purchase but there are other bronzers that I love more. This bronzer also has a little shimmer in it which I am not a huge fan of. I prefer a matte face with minimal shimmer. If you want to try it for yourself, it is still available on the Ulta website but not on the actual Buxom website.

#7 Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette

This was another one of the first more expensive makeup products that I purchased. Unlike the ABH cream contour palette, I got some pretty decent use out of it. Well out of the yellow shade. All of the other colors look untouched and I can’t really remember why I didn’t use them.
