Happy Wednesday!

I really want to get in the groove of sharing at least one beauty post per week just to keep things fresh. This week I thought I would share how I create my everyday, flawless face. This is not a quick 5 minute look…this will definitely take you some time but each time I do my makeup this way it looks soooo smooth and pretty! BTW…this is how I usually do my makeup when I shoot my blog pictures. I have added in steps and switched things around to try and get the perfect routine. This is my most recent routine. 🙂

(Of course, you should always start with clean, moisturized skin. This helps the makeup lay on your skin better and removes any impurities/dirt prior to adding makeup on top. The moisturizer helps add a barrier between your skin and the rest of your makeup.)

Step # 1 – Primer

Lately, I have been using the Tatcha Liquid Canvas Primer. I love this primer because it helps my foundation go on really smooth. It doesn’t pill or roll up like some of the other primers I have used in the past. It also doesn’t dry my face out or create a white cast on my skin which is another plus. The last perk of this primer is that it doesn’t cling to dry patches so each time I use it no matter how my skin looks, my foundation goes on smooth.

Step #2 – Color Correct

I use this color corrector (in shades medium and tan) under my eyes to help hide any bluish-purple areas under my eyes. This helps make my eyes look more awake. I use an orange or salmon corrector because orange cancels out purple. If you have redness that you want to cover you should try a green corrector because green cancels red.

Step #3 – Apply Setting Powder

This step is new and is a game changer. I have seen a few youtubers suggest this (specifically, Jackie Aina) and one of my followers on insta suggested this so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try. I am so glad I decided to because it really creates an even smoother and more poreless look. You don’t need much powder, in fact I think too much may not give you the desired effect. You just dap your beauty blender (or makeup sponge) in to your fave setting powder and press it in all over your face. The goal is to create a very thin layer of powder all over except for under my eyes.

Step #3 – Apply Foundation

You can use any foundation you choose. In the pictures above, I used this foundation. I bought this foundation last summer or fall but I only used it once…maybe twice. I can’t remember why I didn’t use it more than those two times because I really like it and the color match is just about perfect. I personally like to squirt some foundation of the back of my hand to warm it up, dot foundation all over my face, and then blend it with a makeup brush. The brush that I like to use is this one. If I need another layer, I add one the same exact way I did the first. I always make sure I get the foundation in my hairline and down my neck to make sure everything looks seamlesss.

#4 – Concealer under my eyes, on my chin, and on my forehead to highlight and conceal

I apply my concealer in upside down triangles under my eyes and then I apply a few dots on my forehead and chin. Then I use a damp (I don’t use a dry one or a brush anymore) beauty blender to blend everything out. After everything is blended out, I set my undereyes and chin with this powder. I don’t set my forehead until after I have finished my whole face because I move my forehead a ton and if I set my forehead this early, I will have creases set there. I’m really loving this concealer in the shades maple and oak.

#5 – Bronzer

I always use a cream bronzer or darker concealer to bronze my face and then set it with powder. The concealer that I used in these pics is this one and I have been loving to set that with this bronzing powder in the shade medium. I have shade tan as well but it’s a tad too dark for me and can look muddy.

#6 – Blush

I use this blush on the apples of my cheeks. It is the PERFECT shade for all year round. I also use and love this shade.

#7 – Eyeshadow/Lashes /Brows

I use this glue and I rotate between lashes. I usually really like these , these, or the style Monaco. I can’t remember what lashes that I have on in these pics because I found them in a random plastic bag in my vanity. I only use one or two shadows and dust them all over my lid. I really like how simple it looks. Sometimes, I will add a bit of sparkle in the inner corners of my eyes. I like to add the shade “shine” from the Biba palette in my inner corner. In the pictures, I used all of the colors from the Biba Palette. It is a SPLURGE but if you like warm neutrals it is deff worth the money. I used shades buff and freckle on my lids. I have been using this brow pencil lately in the shade #4.

#8 – Lipstick/Liner/Gloss Combo

I love the shades Kim KW, Penelope Pink, and Hepburn Honey. I am using the shade Bitch Perfect in the pictures above. For lip liner, I rotate through a few. I usually gravitate towards rosy-brown or brown lipliners. The one I have on in the pics is wherever walnut but I also like this brown lipliner and this rosy-brown lipliner. I also really loveeee this gloss on top in the color ibiza nights. It is super shiny without being thick or sticky.

#10 – Highlight

I am currently loving this oldie but goodie! I used the cream highlight first and then set it with the powder highlight in the palette.

#10 – Setting Spray

I love this setting spray. I douse my face in setting spray and let it air dry. While the setting spray is drying, I take my beauty blender and blend out any creases that are in my forehead. When everything is completely dry, I set my forehead with this powder.

#11 – Mascara/Shadow Under My Lower Lashes

I always do my mascara after I set my face and the setting spray completely dries so that there’s less of a chance of the mascara running or smearing. After I apply mascara I take a small shadow brush and line under my lower lashes with the same shadow that I used on my lids. In the pictures I have on the shade “freckle” under my lower lashes.
